Everything You Need To Know

About Our Services
What type of makeup style does McKey Bridal specialize in?
We specialize in refined, soft, and timeless bridal beauty — looks that enhance your features, photograph beautifully, and feel effortlessly elegant in person.
Do you offer both hair and makeup services?
Yes — we offer both bridal hair and makeup and recommend booking both through McKey Bridal for a truly cohesive, polished look. We do require a minimum booking and that all bridal party services be handled through our team for whichever service(s) we’re hired for. This allows us to create a seamless, elevated experience that feels calm, consistent, and beautifully unified from start to finish.
Can I book just myself, or do you require a minimum number of services?
We require that the entire bridal party be booked through McKey Bridal for whichever service we’re providing — hair, makeup, or both. This ensures a cohesive, seamless aesthetic across your wedding party and allows us to maintain our signature calm, organized flow throughout the morning.
The McKey Bridal Experience
What makes the McKey Bridal experience different?
Our brides don’t just receive hair and makeup — they receive a curated, calming experience from start to finish. Every detail, from your timeline to your payments, is handled well before the wedding day, allowing you to simply relax and enjoy the morning.
Once your date is confirmed, you’ll receive our Bridal Preparation PDFs, which include everything you need to know — from detailed trial prep to day-of wedding morning guidance — ensuring you feel confident, organized, and completely cared for.
We pride ourselves on clear communication, polished professionalism, and a calm presence that sets the tone for the entire morning. With McKey Bridal, you can trust that every moment will flow seamlessly and beautifully.
How do you help manage the wedding morning timeline?
Every wedding we take is fully customized — and that includes a personalized beauty timeline created specifically for your bridal party. Once your final service count is confirmed, we’ll build a schedule that ensures each service runs smoothly and aligns perfectly with your photographer’s timeline.
Our team arrives prepared, organized, and ready to begin right on time. Because all details and payments are finalized in advance, the morning flows effortlessly — allowing you and your bridal party to simply enjoy the experience.
We believe a smooth wedding morning is a team effort. We highly recommend assigning designated bridal party members to each time slot on your beauty timeline to help the morning stay on track and ensure every service transitions seamlessly.
Booking & Policies
How do I book with McKey Bridal?
To inquire, simply complete our inquiry form and we’ll reach out with availability, pricing and booking details.
Who should I contact for scheduling, changes, or questions?
All communication, scheduling, and administrative details are handled exclusively through Marissa. This includes contracts, invoices, timelines, and any changes to your booking.
To ensure everything remains organized and consistent, we kindly ask that you do not contact your assigned artist directly regarding scheduling or booking details. This helps us keep everyone aligned, maintain clear communication, and ensure your experience runs as smoothly as possible from inquiry to “I do.”
Is a retainer required to secure my date?
Yes — a retainer fee and signed contract are required to reserve your date on our calendar. The retainer fee is non-refundable, non-transferable, and does not go toward your final balance.
When is the final balance due?
Final balances are typically due 30 days before the wedding date, allowing you to focus on the fun parts of planning.
What if I need to make changes to my booking?
Minor adjustments can often be accommodated, but we do require final service counts in advance to ensure staffing and timing accuracy.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because your artists and date are reserved exclusively for you, we require a minimum of six (6) months’ notice for all cancellations. If less than six months’ notice is given, the full remaining balance of your contract will be due in full.
Please note that all retainers are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
What is your rescheduling policy?
Because our team books weddings well in advance, rescheduling is not guaranteed and is considered on a case-by-case basis. A change in wedding date or location is treated as a new booking, and a new non-refundable retainer will be required to secure the new date. The original retainer remains non-refundable and non-transferable, and availability for your new date cannot be guaranteed until a new contract is in place.
Trials & Prep
When should I schedule my bridal preview?
We recommend scheduling your bridal preview 1-2 months before your wedding — close enough to your date that your vision and inspiration are finalized.
What should I bring or wear to my trial?
Wear a white or light-colored top, and bring your veil or hair accessories if available. Inspiration photos are always welcome — we love a clear vision!
Once your date is officially booked, you’ll receive our Bridal Preparation Guide, an exclusive PDF that walks you through everything you need to know — from detailed trial prep and aesthetic skin timelines to our best tips for achieving a flawless, radiant finish on your wedding day.
Do you offer trials for bridesmaids or mothers?
Yes, upon request. Our bridal preview sessions are prioritized for the bride, but additional trials can be added when available.
What if I’m unsure about my exact bridal look yet?
That’s completely okay! We’ll guide you through options that complement your features, dress, and personal style until it feels perfectly you.
How should I prepare my skin and hair for the wedding day?
Arrive with clean, dry hair and a fresh face — no makeup or product. Good skincare and hydration leading up to the big day are key for a flawless finish.
Can I book a bridal preview before officially reserving my wedding date?
Occasionally, we’re able to accommodate bridal previews prior to officially booking; however, availability for these appointments is limited. Please note that wedding dates are not held or guaranteed without a signed contract and paid retainer.
If you’d like to schedule a preview before booking, we recommend reaching out as soon as possible so we can confirm availability and discuss next steps.
